Does your organization recognize any of these?

Most operational problems in growing organizations follow the same patterns. The friction that slows you down is not unique to you. It is predictable, and it can be addressed.

Communication Breakdowns

Information doesn’t reach the right people. Decisions get revisited. Teams operate in silos. The organization moves slower than it should.

Unclear Accountability

Ownership is vague. Follow-through is inconsistent. When things fall through the cracks, it’s rarely clear who was responsible—or why.

Scaling Chaos

What worked when the team was small no longer holds. Growth has outpaced structure. The founder is still the bottleneck for too many decisions.

Operational Bottlenecks

Certain decisions or processes only move when specific people are involved. Workflows lack documentation. Institutional knowledge lives in people’s heads, not systems.

Inconsistent Leadership

Leaders operate differently under pressure than they do day-to-day. Expectations shift. Teams adapt to inconsistency rather than performing to clear standards.

Process Fragmentation

Different teams, different methods. No shared operating standard. Work gets done, but not consistently—and the inconsistency compounds over time.

The Approach

Blue Skies Consultancy approaches business consulting the same way Gary has approached every complex operational environment: by understanding how things actually work before deciding how to fix them. Frameworks get tested against reality here, not the other way around.

Systems that hold under pressure. Leadership that stays consistent. Communication that doesn’t break down when things get hard. Every engagement is built around what will actually work in your specific organization. Not what looks good in a presentation.

The goal is not transformation for its own sake. It is building organizations that function well without constant heroic effort to hold them together.

Operational Realism

Solutions are designed for how your organization operates in practice, not in theory.

Systems Thinking

Problems are examined in context—not isolated symptoms, but interconnected operational realities.

Disciplined Execution

Implementation is treated with the same rigor as diagnosis. The goal is lasting change, not temporary improvement.

What Clients Say

“Working with Gary fundamentally changed how I run my business. I went from being the bottleneck in everything to having systems that actually work without me. The discipline he brings is unlike any consultant I’ve worked with.”

— Joshua, Partnerships Advisory, Chicago

“Gary’s background gives him a perspective no MBA can teach. He identified operational gaps in my business that I had been blind to for years. Direct, practical, and no fluff.”

— Jane, Psychologist, Erie

“I’ve hired consultants before who gave me frameworks I never used. Gary built things with me that I still use every day. The accountability structure alone was worth the entire engagement.”

— Matt, Executive Chef, Portland
